Your muscular capacity is the way that your muscles work. It could pertain to endurance, which is the ability that your muscles have to continually apply force over an extended period of time. Or endurance could be seen as your body’s ability to perform repeated contractions for an extended period of time. When looking at your muscular capacity, we are also talking about the amount of force that your muscles can exert in one single movement. It’s the ability to generate that explosive movement that you often see in athletes.
When talking about body composition, we are looking at things like the ratio of bone to muscle to fat in your body. When your body composition is healthy, the chances of you developing things like heart disease, diabetes, and other illnesses drastically decrease. This is why medical professionals put a lot of emphasis on things like your body mass index.
These are just a few of the factors that are considered when it comes to total body wellness. All of these factors should be taken into consideration with the end goal of helping you to improve your health and maintain good health throughout your life.
