Dimples Belong
on Your Smile.
Not Your Thighs.

Cellulite affects 80-90% of women regardless of body weight or fitness level — it's a structural issue, not a fat issue. The dimpled, uneven texture occurs because fibrous connective bands (septae) pull skin downward while fat pushes upward between them, creating the characteristic peaks and valleys. Creams can't reach these structures. Exercise can't change them. Ovation Med Spa offers a multi-technology approach that addresses all three components of cellulite: the fibrous bands, the fat compartments, and the overlying skin. Houston's Galleria/Uptown.

The Science

Cellulite Is Structural —
Not a Weight Problem

Fibrous septae are the primary culprit. These connective tissue bands run vertically between skin and muscle, creating compartments that fat fills. In women, these bands run perpendicular to the skin surface (men's run diagonally, which is why men rarely get cellulite). When fat pushes up between tight bands, the surface dimples.

Three structural components create the appearance: (1) tight fibrous bands pulling down, (2) fat herniation pushing up between bands, and (3) thin or lax overlying skin that makes the underlying architecture more visible. Effective treatment addresses at least two of these three.

Why creams don't work: cellulite is a deep structural issue (dermis and subcutaneous tissue). Topical products can't reach the septae or redistribute fat compartments. Caffeine-based creams may temporarily tighten skin surface, creating a brief improvement — but the structure underneath is unchanged.

Ovation's Cellulite Protocol combines acoustic wave therapy (Z-Wave) to disrupt fibrous bands, radiofrequency (Venus Legacy/ThermiSmooth) to tighten overlying skin, and lymphatic drainage (Ballancer PRO) to reduce fluid retention that worsens appearance. The multi-mechanism approach produces significantly better results than any single technology.

Your Treatment Options

Break the Bands. Tighten the Skin.
Drain the Fluid.

Four technologies targeting the three structural components of cellulite.

Acoustic WaveTop Pick
Z-Wave
Radial pressure waves disrupt the fibrous septae that create dimpling — mechanically breaking down the tight bands that pull skin inward. Also stimulates collagen production and improves lymphatic flow in treated tissue.

Radiofrequency + SuctionTop Pick
Venus Legacy
Multi-polar RF with pulsed electromagnetic fields and VariPulse suction — tightens overlying skin, stimulates collagen and elastin, and improves circulation in cellulite-affected areas.

Controlled RF
ThermiSmooth Body
Temperature-controlled radiofrequency for targeted skin tightening over cellulite areas — gentle, comfortable, progressive improvement with each session.

Ultrasound Tightening
Sofwave
SUPERB™ ultrasound stimulates deep collagen remodeling — tightening and thickening the overlying skin that makes cellulite's structural pattern visible. Thicker, firmer skin reduces the appearance of dimpling.

Ballancer PRO
Medical-grade pneumatic compression reduces fluid retention that worsens cellulite appearance — improves lymphatic flow, reduces puffiness, and enhances results from other cellulite treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Can cellulite actually be improved without surgery?+
Yes — meaningfully improved, though not completely eliminated. The Cellulite Protocol reduces the appearance of dimpling by disrupting fibrous bands (Z-Wave), tightening overlying skin (Venus Legacy), and reducing fluid retention (Ballancer PRO). Most patients see a visible smoothing of texture, especially with a full treatment series.
How many sessions for visible improvement?+
The Cellulite Protocol typically involves 6-8 sessions over 6-8 weeks. Improvement is progressive — each session builds on the previous one. Initial smoothing is often visible after 3-4 sessions. Maintenance sessions every few months sustain results.
Will losing weight help my cellulite?+
Not necessarily — and sometimes weight loss makes cellulite more visible as the overlying skin thins. Cellulite is structural, not weight-related. Very lean, athletic women commonly have cellulite. Treatment addresses the structure directly regardless of body weight.
Which body areas respond best?+
Thighs (posterior and lateral) and buttocks respond well because the tissue is accessible and the structural pattern is consistent. Abdomen cellulite can also improve. Your provider assesses your specific pattern during consultation.
