The neck and décolletage have thinner skin with fewer oil glands — making them more vulnerable to collagen loss and dehydration. Most people diligently apply SPF and active ingredients to their face but neglect the neck and chest entirely, creating a visible 'line of demarcation' at the jawline.
Sun exposure is particularly damaging on the chest. The décolletage is almost always exposed (V-necklines, open collars) and accumulates decades of UV damage — brown spots, broken capillaries, crepey texture, and deep wrinkles that develop a characteristic crosshatch pattern.
