The Non-Surgical Facelift That Houston Professionals Are Actually Choosing

How Sofwave and EmFace work at two structural depths to lift, tighten, and restore — without surgery, without downtime

There’s a version of aging that happens to the face that skincare can’t touch.

Serums work on the surface. Lasers work on pigmentation and texture. But there’s a deeper layer of change — the gradual sagging of the midface, the softening of the jawline, the lines that appear not from sun damage but from decades of simple muscle activity — that requires something that can reach the architecture underneath.

Until recently, the answer to that was surgery. Or it was nothing. That’s changed.

What’s Actually Happening When the Face Changes Shape

Facial aging isn’t one process. It’s four happening simultaneously — at different depths, through different mechanisms. Most treatments address only one.

Mechanism 1: Volume Loss Fat compartment depletion in the midface and under-eye creates a sunken, hollowed quality that reads as aged even when skin quality is good.

Mechanism 2: Bone Resorption The orbital rim, jaw, and midface skeleton gradually recede — so the soft tissue that once rested on solid structure begins to descend.

Addressed by Sofwave: Skin Laxity As collagen and elastin production slows, the skin loses its ability to snap back and drapes differently over the underlying structure.

Addressed by EmFace Muscle Atrophy Facial lifting muscles weaken and lose tone with age — exactly like any other muscle. This contributes directly to the descended, fatigued appearance standard aesthetics cannot treat.

Sofwave and EmFace address the two mechanisms that matter most for the patient who isn’t ready for surgery but is done accepting the status quo — working simultaneously at the dermal and muscular layers.

Technology One: Ultrasound Collagen Remodeling · 1.5mm Dermal Depth

Sofwave

Sofwave uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology (SUPERB) to deliver controlled thermal energy at precisely 1.5mm depth — the dermis where collagen and elastin fibers live. A built-in cooling system protects the surface throughout.

At 1.5mm, Sofwave triggers a controlled thermal injury in the dermal collagen. The body responds by producing new, organized collagen fibers. Over 12 weeks following treatment, that new collagen contracts and remodels — producing visible lifting and tightening in the skin, jawline, and neck.

The procedure takes 30–45 minutes for a full face and neck. There is no downtime — mild redness for a few hours is the typical response. Results develop over 3–6 months and typically last 12–18 months.

Technology Two: HIFEM Muscle Restoration + Synchronized RF · Muscular Layer

EmFace

EmFace is a genuinely different category of technology. While Sofwave works on collagen in the dermis, EmFace works on two distinct targets simultaneously: the facial muscles through high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy, and the dermis through synchronized radiofrequency.

The HIFEM component is what makes EmFace novel. Facial muscles — particularly the zygomaticus major (the primary lifting muscle of the midface), the frontalis (forehead), and the risorius — weaken and lose tone with age. This muscular atrophy contributes directly to facial descent. Standard aesthetic medicine has no way to address this: you cannot inject or laser a muscle back to tone.

EmFace delivers supramaximal electromagnetic stimulation, contracting the facial muscles far more intensely than any voluntary expression can achieve. Over four sessions, the muscles rebuild strength, tone, and volume. The lifted quality that results is genuine muscular improvement — not a surface-level illusion.

Why the Combination Works

Sofwave addresses the dermal layer — rebuilding the collagen scaffold and producing measurable tightening. EmFace addresses the muscular layer — restoring tone to the lifting muscles that support the face from underneath.

The Protocol Logic

Patients who undergo both describe a quality that is different from what either treatment produces alone: a lifted, rested, defined appearance that doesn’t look “done” — because it isn’t. No fillers changing geometry. No toxins affecting expression. The face looks like itself, at a structural quality it may not have had in years.

Who This Protocol Is For

  • The patient who wants results without surgery. Sofwave + EmFace produces measurable lifting that is visible to others. For patients who want real change without a surgical commitment, this is the most clinically meaningful non-surgical option available.
  • The patient catching it early. The best outcomes come from patients who begin before tissue loss becomes significant. Patients in their late 30s and 40s who treat now preserve both their current appearance and their response to treatment.
  • The patient maintaining after surgery. Patients who’ve had facelifts use Sofwave + EmFace to sustain their results and slow the return of laxity. The technology extends the longevity of surgical outcomes meaningfully.
  • The professional who cannot have downtime. Both treatments are zero-downtime procedures. For Houston executives, attorneys, physicians, and entrepreneurs who cannot schedule a week away from their lives, this protocol delivers significant results within their actual schedule.

What a Protocol Looks Like at Ovation

Consultation & Assessment Clinical evaluation of skin quality, facial architecture, and candidacy. Realistic outcome mapping and protocol design specific to your anatomy and goals.

EmFace Series — 4 Sessions, 1 Week Apart 20-minute sessions, no anesthetic, no recovery. Each session builds progressive muscular tone. Completed over approximately one month.

Sofwave — 1 Session, 30–45 Minutes Full face and neck treatment performed during or alongside the EmFace series. Mild redness for a few hours. Resume normal activity immediately.

Results Development — 3–6 Months EmFace results develop progressively through the series and for 4–8 weeks after. Sofwave collagen remodeling develops over 3–6 months. The full outcome emerges gradually.

Maintenance — Annual Sofwave, EmFace Every 6–12 Months Most patients incorporate one or both into their annual aesthetic practice. Many combine with Halo or BBL for a complete skin health protocol.

A Note on What This Can and Can’t Do

Sofwave + EmFace produces real, measurable, visible lifting and tightening. It is not surgery. Patients with moderate to advanced laxity, significant volume loss, or very deep structural change may find that surgery offers more complete correction than any non-surgical technology can provide.

What it does exceptionally well: preserve what you have, improve what’s beginning to change, and produce a lifted, structured appearance that looks natural because it’s working with your own tissue.

For a significant portion of our patients — particularly those in their late 30s through mid-60s — this is the answer they’ve been looking for.
